Hi,
I'm trying to install Agent 6.04 on Linux version 2.6.18-8.el5 (Red Hat 4.1.1-52) but it fails showing me this:
Activate CONTROL-M/Agent.
Failed to Activate CONTROL-M/Agent.
Installation of the CONTROL-M/Agent failed.
Please examine the log [/home/controlm/BMCINSTALL/log/DRKAI.6.4.01_trace.log] for more information.
The log says the following:

Failed to get machine type.
This happens when the installation is done in a subdirectory of the agent account and not in the home directory.
This has been identified as CAR ID: CAR00040424.
This happens when the installation is done in a subdirectory of the agent account and not in the home directory.
There are 2 "workarounds" to this CAR:
1). re-install the CONTROL-M/Agent in the $HOME directory of the UNIX User account, or
2). edit the start-ag script - replace "./$agent_dir/ctm/exe/<process>" with "./$agent_dir/<sub_dir>/ctm/exe/<process>", where <process> is p_ctmag, p_ctmat or p_ctmar and <sub_dir> is the sub directory where the Agent is installed.
Please note that this CAR has also been addressed with the release of Fix Pack 2 (and higher) for the Version 6.4.01
