Agent status in Configuration Manager

Post by thor8 » 25 Jan 2011 12:42

Hi

I'v got a problem with refreshing status of Control-M agents
in Configuration Manager.
When we restart the server where the agent is installed or when we restart the agent on this server the status of this agent in Configuration Manager doesn't change automatically to available.
The status of agent change only when we ping or test this agent from the Configuration Manager (it concers agents on all platforms OS400, WINTEL, AIX, SUN)
The next syptom when we register a new agent in Configuration Manager:
when we register a new agent in Configuration Manager the status of this agent stay in "Not OK status" ping and test doesnt help in this case.
The only way to change the state of new register agent in Configuration Manager to available is restart the Control-M Server and Control-M configuration agent.
Please help guys THX and Regards

What version of CTM server and agent are you on?

Try these steps when you add a new agent and if it does not become available

1. Login to the id for your ctm server
2. Execute the command on the CONTROL-M Server
ctm_agstat -AGSTAT <CONTROL> <NODE> <NODE>

where:
CONTROL-M Agent NODE ID: CONTROL-M Agent NODE ID
NODE TYPE: Legal Node Type N/R/U where N=Normal (Regular), R=Remote, U=Unknown
NODE STATUS: Legal node status V/U/D/R where V=Available, U=Unavailable, D=Disabled, R=Discovering

eg : ctm_agstat -AGSTAT TESTNODE N V
