I have this problemas :

Environment: 2 servers AIX: first server is Control-M EM, Second server is for job execution and an agent is installed. This error occurs ocasionaly (0.01%): server 1 submit job to agent in server 2, but server 2 response as follows, and job is not submitted:

20090428 110001 Failed to submit job.
20090428 110001 Found empty sysout file.
20090428 110001 Possible cause of problem:
1. Job submission aborted due to error in executing '/bin/su'.
2. Job submission aborted due to error in Autoedit variables.
login. STDOUT -->>
login. STDERR -->>
3004-502 Cannot get "LOGNAME" variable.

Generaly (99.9%), this jobs have no problem and work very good.

i'm not aix administrator. But isn't there any restriction for su-ing on your owner account?
I do not know the su restrictions :(.
And it does only under these one owner, or all of owners do it also on others servers?
Can you test it?

Tips

Thanks people, this case has been fixed. I contact my server fabricant and detect a corruption in some binary files (not Control-M, only binary files from operating System AIX), this binaries are corrupted files in /etc/*.idx and /etc/security/*.idx. Maybe related with shutdown machines last week for maintenance. Thanks to all.
