TR Log filling up with DB_ExecSelect() - Failed in OCIStmtEx

So a couple of days ago our UNIX team stopped the listener for our CTM database without letting me know, and therefore without stopping the application first.
Our TR logs are filling up with:
0715 12:33:20.503 TR: TR_JOB_handle: DB_ExecSelect() - Failed in OCIStmtExecute
0715 12:33:24.502 TR: TR_JOB_handle: checkerr(StructProc=0x9ee6e18) - Error, OCI_INVALID_HANDLE
I've tried shutting down the application, shutting down the DB, and re-starting, but to no avail.
Has anyone else been stuck in this sort of situation?
