Perform migration from clean install

Post by rich_arredondo » 16 Nov 2011 5:16

Hello experts:

I've been through several migrations of similar environments by using the "util -d" option so I can backup the Enterprise Manager Database and import it in another server.

I've also migrated by importing my complete draft using XML.

But, in my experience, the best way to build a new environtment is from scratch, I mean, a clean installation with totally new components.

I've used exportdeftable, exportdefjob, exportdefcal, importdeftable, accounts.dat file to import AFT Accounts.

But some other components are missing, my question in this case is:

How can I export some of the following components with a utility such as the ones I already mentioned?:

- Userdaily
- Resources
- Agent names and ports (In the case of Control-M Server)
- System parameters (ODATE, Day Time, etc)
-Users Accounts

I already know you can do that by backing up and restoring CTM Server and EM Databases, I'm just curious if this is possible to automate a little bit the migration processes I perform by using commands or utilities.

Best regards and good luck for you all.
