Mirroring problem

Post by thor8 » 14 Jun 2010 11:48

Hi
We have two servers with Control-M application.
Server A is our primary (production) site (with Control-M Server and Control-M EM installation) and server B our backup site (with the same Control-M installation as server A).
Both servers are AIX 6.1 and the databases are Oracle.
Between Control-M servers (ctrlm databases) we hade mirroring enabled.
Yesterday we wanted to do a backup of our backup server (server B) so we shut down CM agent and CM Server on prodution server (server A) and then we where able to disable mirroring. After the backup we enable mirroring and start CM Server and CM Agent, and then the problems started.
The problem is with jobs in Control-M Enterprise Manager.
When all conditions are met (time, confirm etc.) jobs should run automaticly but they didn't (they are still in wait state). But when i HOLD job in C-M /EM job state change to executing and this is over. Jobs ends on system but in C-M/EM they are still in executing state.
Everything returns to normal when we disable mirroring.

Please help me with this problem
THX and regards

P.S. CTM EM 6.4 on AIX 6.1 and Oracle 10

Hi,
How is your EM server installed. Do you have only one EM server on ServerA or you have it also on ServerB.

I have the same configuration as you, and havent seen such a problem.

First, i would:
1) Check, if EM is running on primary server and is connected to primary CTM.

2) check, if your CTM is using primary DB and not using failover DB.

3) check, if your mirroring is correctly set.

4) check, if you can use ctmpsm to handle jobs without any problem.

5) are you sure, that you enabled mirror on right server? :)

Can you rebuild the mirror (from scratch)?

What does the EM gtw log say?

If ctmpsm works fine, then the problem is on EM side.
