Hi suru81,

Try checking the port settings for Control-M Server as this error usually comes when the ports are not set accordingly, also check ports used by Control-M is in use by any other application or not.

You can check Port settings for Control-M in Parameter Customization menu in ctm_menu on Control-M Server, thanks.

Nope this isn't the issue..Issue is that sybase database is actually not getting started ---Database '%.*s' cannot be opened. An earlier attempt at recovery marked it 'suspect'. Check the SQL Server errorlog for information as to the cause. due to H/W error

Suru81,

May be you are right as its a hardware issue or Sybase server issue, but I faced the same issue before while installing Control-M 6.4 Server with MSSQL Server as backend on Windows, when we tried writing the table in Control-M EM after installation, it works fine, but when we tried to upload the same it didn't worked because Server was unable to communicate with EM Database and its OWN database, when we check port settings, they were not correctly set and some firewall settings were also causing issue in communication.

We have tried all possible thing..rebooting the host/unmount/mount the FS but all through its giving SYBASE H/W error..

Below is the latest error from CTM_MENU==>Check all

The context allocation routine failed when it tried to load localization files!!
One or more following problems may caused the failure

Your sybase home directory is /opt/controlm/620/server/sybase. Check the environment variable SYBASE if it is not the one you want!
Cannot access file /opt/controlm/620/server/sybase/config/objectid.dat

SQL Server is not running.

what is the content of your $SYBASE (do a echo $SYBASE)
do you have something more reliable in ~/sybase/ASE*/data/error.log ?
