Move file(S)from one folder to another onsame host using AFT

Post by niras » 26 Oct 2009 11:34

Hi,

I have FTP server enabled Host1(box1) and Host2(box2) configured in AFT(6.3.01.100 with PAAFT 6.3.01.101) module running on control-M server(box3).

My requirement is to move a file(S) from one folder to another on same box1 after uploading those file(s) to box2.

Flow:
step1: upload file from host1(box1) to host2(box2)
step2:upon success of step1,move the file from current folder to other folder on same host1(box1 itself)

options tried:
step1:uplaod file from box1 to box2---delete source file
step2:download file from box2(i.e uploaded in step2) to box1 to my target folder
Limitations:For a file with "file<datestamp>",when I use file*.* every time I execute step2,it downloads all previous data again.

Please advice..

Try:

step1: uplaod file from box1 to box2
step2: copy files from box1 to box1 (using AFT) and then delete source files.

regards.
Martín.

Thanks for reply..Actually step2 is what I need and looking how to implement using AFT.In host columns,I cannot select same host as host1 and host2!!! (copy/move)

step2: copy files from box1 to box1 (using AFT) and then delete source files.

Try adding an alias to host1 in your host file.

new fixpack

Post by th_alejandro » 04 Nov 2009 11:27

I mount a fix pack called FTP 6.3.01.500 to solve this. This fix pack contains the new options 'MOVE' additional to the options 'rename', 'delete', 'left as it'. With this fix pack, in 1 ftp job you can copy files from box 1 to box2 and then 'move' to another directory in 'box 1' in only 1 step.
