need examples of using ctmfw with input file to set a global

I am need of examples of rule file that will allow my fw to capture a file which has a date and timestamp set by the job which generated sent file. The file sent by a job running on z/os to fw on Enterprise manager which will then pass global to an Oracle script on Enterprisemanager. I need to be able to set a global variable to pass this file with its date and timestamp intact to the other job. I am currently on version 7.
