Schedule a job the 1st working day of the quarter

Post by bagbag » 21 Feb 2011 4:20

Hi all, I want to run a job the first working day of the quarter. This job must run al 8:00 AM and the ND is at 11:00 AM.
That is, the job would run:
on 1st Apr 2011 (ordered on 31 Mar),
on 1 Jul (ordered the 30 Jun),
on Monday 3 Oct (ordered on Sun 2 Oct),
on Monday 2 Jan 2012 (ordered on Sun 1 Jan)

I've tried in several ways but with no results. Can someone give me any indication?

Thank you very much.

Hi bagbag,

I think you can't use the rules from the scheduling tab. I think the easiest way is to creat an new calendar (Tools - Calendar Manager) for the next years.

Hi bagbag,

put "D1" in "Month days" scheduling,
put your "Working days calendar" name in the "month days calendar"
Click on Months Jan, Apr, Jul, and Oct

Click on "Foreast", and you can see the result.

I hope it's clear :D

Hi Jean-Mi and thank you for your reply.
My problem is that the job must run before ND so I cannot use your suggestion.
The only way I have found is to use the "periodic" calendar to have the job run like this:
on 1st Apr 2011 (ordered on 31 Mar),
on 1 Jul (ordered the 30 Jun),
on Monday 3 Oct (ordered on Sun 2 Oct),
on Monday 2 Jan 2012 (ordered on Sun 1 Jan)

In Month Day Rules I put D2P1,D2P2,D2P3,D2P4 on period 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 of a periodic calendar and now it works correctly. :D

As a second choice, I could also create a particular calendar for this event.

Thanks again
