Hi.
I have a problem.
I am trying to start an agent but I got an error message:

*** Failed in sharch . ***

You can help me to solve it.

What version of Control-M are you on and what is the Agent platform?

Has this ever worked? If not, check you are trying to start as a fully authorised root user. After that check that there is a relevant entry for the agent in inetd.conf or if inetd.conf has appropriate permissions since agent stop/start writes data to it.

Thank you for the previous commentary. Already I it solved the problem.

Now I have other one.

$ /usr/local/bin/sudo start-ag

Enter CONTROL-M/Agent UNIX username [ctmagent]:

Enter CONTROL-M/Agent Process Name <ALL> [ALL]:
Cannot find service for the port 11006
Control-M Agent start failed.
The tracker is started automatically. You cannot start it manually.

and if your agent version is 6.1 /etc/services must be set for the agent
