Hello, :D

It's now possible (and it is the default) to install Control-M v6.4 using PostgreSQL.

:?: Do any of you have plan to use PostgreSQL ? Do you see any (dis)advantages of using PostgreSQL instead of, for example, an existing Oracle ?

Thank you... :D

Hi,

PostgreSQL is an OpenSource database, so it could be interesting, because, it need less cpu, memory and space disk to run.

So we don't have any experiences, included with Control-M products.

We must wait.

We have every intention of utilizing the control products with Postgresql. We have been utilizing the control products for 11 years with Sybase and do not wish to be pulled into Oracle. We have minimal experience with Postgresql and will be moving forward with implementation slowly. For us the benefits in terms of smaller footprint, and quicker restore/load times during DR and upgrades. In addition, I am excited to utilize the open source product for which, I am sure, there will be multiple forums similar to this one in which both questions and answers will be available.
