Failed to connect Control-m/CM for SAP error

We are occassionally getting an error when starting a SAP job from Control-m. The funny thing is that it doesn't happen all the time and all we need to do is a re-run and the job runs fine. The error is-

12/9/2013 8:13:16 AM TR5080 FAILED TO SUBMIT JOB ZFI_GLBalancesExport. Message from Agent follows
12/9/2013 8:13:16 AM TR5167 Failed to connect to Control-M/CM for SAP. Maximum connection retries reached (RecoveryMaxRetry).

Anyone else experience this or know if the problem is on the CM side or the SAP side?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Scott,

you can increase the value of time-out for SAP connection from CCM to avoid this error .

This is because of when Control-M tries to connect to SAP server and didnt get response in 120 sec ( Default value ) then jobs failed at submit stage itself and never started in SAP side .

you need to do
--> login to CCM --> Go to SAP agent module -->Right click --> Account management --> selct the SAP account which is causing issue and click on update
--> Go to advance options ---> SAP response time out = update to 300 to 900 sec then save

restart of agent is not required.
