CM for SAP 6.3.01: Detecting spawned jobs - How to?

Post by Mauerstein » 20 Sep 2011 3:59

Hello,

I am trying to monitor some jobs that are created in SAP by other jobs.
So I guess I have to use the "detect spawned jobs" functionality of CM for SAP.
The jobs that create the jobs I would like to monitor are scheduled in ControlM, so I think these jobs are the parent jobs.
I have learned from documentation that I have to use the "detect spawned job"-function in the scheduling template of the parent job. OK.
In the webpage dialog I would like to use a specific job definition. This job definition has to be created in the same table as the parent jobs. OK.
BUT: It has to be a SAP-type job name... So, which job mode must I use for the definition for the spawned jobs? Create, Copy, Original?

It would be very kind if someone could help me.

Does anyone of you monitor sap-generated jobs (e.g. billingruns etc.) within ControlM?

Thank you very much in advance for any help, idea or how-to guide.

Regards,
M.

Hi,

click on "Original";

Control-M will manage the original spawned job in accordance with the specification on the 'specific Job Definition' (if selected)

Jean-Michel.
