'Why' is represented by which SQL Query or stored proc ?

Hello,
When you click 'Why' on a job you get the status of the job and what it's waiting for. Is this a SQL Query embeded in the GUI or does it call a stored proc on the SQL Server ?
Can any tell me the SQL Query or stored proc ?
