DISCOVERING BATCH SERVICES IN CMDB

I know that you can use BMC Batch Discovery with BMC Atrium CMDB and Remedy to save your business services in Control-M as CIs (configuration items) in a CMDB.
But does anybody know of a way to save job definitions or business services as CIs without having to use Remedy or BMC Atrium CMDB. What if you use different 'service desk' and/or CMDB products? Is there a way to do it?
