How to send email from ControlM

Hi
We had installed Control M 6.3 in our linux server and we need to enable the email functionality.Currently we are not getting email alerts and text alerts.Can anyone please let me know how to enable this.I had provided details in ctm_menu under Parmeters and Custimization.But still this doesnt seem to be working. Can you please provide how we can resolve this.

Connect unable to connect to SMTP relay

The smtp server is not reachable.

1) Can be a network problem:
- dns?
- computer name, IP of the smtp server?
- comunication port?

2) Can be a security problem:
- firewall
- smtp connection from crm server allowed?
- batch mail send allowed? (is the ctmmail command that send the e-mail)
- username of sender must be specified? (usually a e-mail address of sender)
