No alert when an agent becomes re-available

Post by Deano » 25 Aug 2009 3:54

Hi Guys,

If an agent becomes unavailable, an alert is sent to ECS to advise:-

STATUS OF AGENT PLATFORM agent_name CHANGED TO UNAVAILABLE

However, when the agent becomes available again, there is no message to advise!

Does anyone have a method of polling for the status to become ok?

I have written a noddy script using the ctm_agstat command, but it is not an ideal solution, as it is not triggered by an agent becomming unavailable.

there is no messages to advise that it's OK for anything in the soft, as the mecanism is a cyclic dialogue between CMS of Control-m/EM and Configuration Agent residing on the Control-m Server, you don't need to be advice about a normal situation.

i believe you'r in 6.3 open system ...

Thanks for your reply.

The reason for the request, is that the operators that manage the alerts, generated by control-M, will raise an incident report if they see that an agent has become unavailable.

We want to be able to manage these incident reports by sending a message (shout to ECS) to say that the agent is now available.

We are using 6.4.

what you've done seems to be the best way so ... waht you can do if you don't want any job, is to use your specific scripts by using the Watch Dog and it's CTMEXIT
