Control-EM console shared on Windows TSE or CITRIX server

Post by fyot » 03 Jan 2006 10:57

That solution gives you opportunities to share a unique Control-EM Console for several users.

1 ? Server Installation
Install a Windows Terminal Server or a Citrix Server.
Create specific access right for all users available to access on this server

2 ? Control-EM Installation
Run CMD.EXE
Before to install anything type the following dos command.
CHANGE USER / INSTALL
Launch Control-EM setup
After Control-EM installation type the following dos command.
CHANGE USER /EXECUTE

You can see following links from Microsoft TechNet documentation.
French
English

3 ? Client Installation

For Terminal Server
You need to use RDP Client. Normally if desktop?s user run under Windows XP Pro. RDP Client is included.
If you need desktop?s user run under Windows NT or Windows 2000 install RDP client for Windows.

RDP Client for NT

For Citrix Server
Install on the desktop?s user Citrix client.

Your explanation seems to be very straight forward.
We did an installation with a version 6.2.01 on a Citrix server, but unfortunately if failed. It displays during the installation the browser, and raises an error "access denied" if we click on any local drive.
It seems it loose any system information.

Note:
* we are in install mode
* installation is done locally directly on the Citrix server, and not remotely

Hi,

I don't know where is your problem for the moment.
So the explanation concern principally an Control-M/EM version 6.1.03, and it has been tested many times whithout any problems.

So, may be, you had an access right issue on your server.
You must have Server Administrator rights to install Control-EM.
It could be the reason of your "access denied" message.

Hello,

Did you ever get this problem resolved? I have exactly the same issue. I tried with an admin account, locadmin etc. with no luck. Any info would be appreciated.
