Hi Everybody

Here is simple way to extract information and use it to create documentation.

First, extract all data from Control-M is easy to do creating odbc connection
with database from Excel and create a spreadsheet with all information.
Or using Report Facility to create a csv file.

Second step, using Word and mailing function, using excel as data
you must have the result.

The first step could be done using ctmpsm utility too.

Please send me the code and exe

Guys I am really sorry for not responding to your queries. Its an honest mistake as I didn't even know there were so many requests for the code (somehow I stopped receiving forum notifications on my email). I have been very busy working on another project.

I am leaving my personal email id over here.. piyushgaur.piyush@gmail.com

I will send the utility (installable) to everyone very soon, also will send it to forum admin to upload it in "downloads" area.

Also, sorry to disappoint everyone I can't (not won't but simply can't) share the code.

I have installable for Control-M Version 6.4 and Version 7.0.

Thanks everyone.

Yes I forgot to tell community I have recently upgraded my code to work with version 7. There is a difference in XML for version 6.4 and 7.0. If anyone wants it for version 6.4 you can let me know I will publish that version too.

Piyush, could you please send me the code on ramesh.controlm@gmail.com for Control-M ver 6.4

It would be very helpful for me..

Thanks in Advance.

piyush wrote:Hi Folks,

Recently there was a requirement in my project to create documentation of all control-m jobs (approx 3000 jobs).

I tried looking at options in Reporting Facility but couldn't find what I was looking for so I created one of my own in .NET

It reads Control-M XML file generated from desktop and then publishes the relevant data in Crystal Report which can then be saved in doc/pdf/excel/rpt format.

One job per page is printed and a page has three parts:
First part shows job name, application name, group, is the job cyclic, interval etc.
Second part shows job's Inconditions and Out Conditions
Third part shows all the parameters.

Guys I do not know if any such utility already exists for free.
But if anyone wants it I am happy to share :)

Suggestions are welcome.

I am new to this forum can anyone please tell me how can I upload that utility? or suggest a way?

Thanks,
PG

Guys,

Sorry to disappoint you but I can't share the code. I can email you the exe although few people have come back to me saying that it doesn't work on their systems.

I don't know what seems to be the problem but I am working a fix.

Hello All,

First of all thank you everyone for your keen interest. Earlier I had emailed the exe to a few ppl but it didn't work for anyone. I had look again today and found that it works perfectly fine on office systems because they all have crystal reports assembly installed on them.
I am currently working towards a resolution, will post an update as soon as I overcome this issue. Hopefully the next exe which I will post will work for everyone, sorry guys but office work is hell :( I will try my best to give you working exe by next weekend.

Thanks,
PG
