Remote Agent 'v' conventional Agent

Hi All, What are the disadvantages of using Remote Agents? Looking at the admin manual, it would seem that there is no benefit in installing agent software. In fact, the overhead of maintaining all of your individual agents makes me wonder why the agent software still exists (save the Local agent). ...

If youre running windows machine, try to find root_menu in: C:\Users\Public\Desktop\ but it is hidden file (I do not know the reason). To show it, you need to create the .bat file with this content and run it: @echo off echo "Running root_menu ..." echo "on windows ...." echo "you must be joking .....

I should point out that I am using 6.4.01.300 on Windows.

Another file that appears to be missing is ECS_ROOT\bin\DBUtils\dbu_menu.exe

Where is root_menu located?

Hi All,

It would appear that our installation has omitted the root_menu file.

Is this common?

Where can I find it, or how do I get hold of an instance?

thanks in advance.

Reporting Facility - cyclic jobs - command line

Hi All, I am trying to perform a forecast of multiple tables that includes each instance of a cyclic job. I have acheived this before, but cannot remember how I did it:( Using desktop, the results only show the 1st instance of each cyclic job and I cannot see a parameter or option to override this. ...

Enterprise Manager - Output Windows - Messages

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the above to write a message that all users can see when they log into EM? By clicking View, Output Windows, Messages. A messages box appears at the top of the screen, but there is no obvious way of entering anything in the box. Perhaps it is a shout destina...

are you talking about AJF in EM ? because if you're speaking about definition tables , it is a very strange question. regards philmalmaison No, if you look at the list of tables under 'em640' (assuming that you have the default name), you can see entries for each date and also each server. For exam...

Housekeeping old tables in the EM640 database

Hi All, I have noticed that we have tables going back to March 2009 in the EM database and can only find entries in these for events. None of the entries are linked to an ORDER_ID, so I imagine that I can delete these tables. Is there a 'nice' way of doing this, or do I have to delete from within SQ...

EM User definition from command line?

Hi All,

Running 6.4.01.200 on Windows.

Is it possible to add/update/delete Enterprise Manager users and groups from command line?

I really do not want to add the LDAP properties to 100 users using the gui!

The server date is correct!

So what I need to know, is how I can manually set the Control-M ODATE to todays date.
