Kill a "currently running" job
If I have a job that runs every 5 minutes pending the completely of a previous run, is there a way to put a time limit on the job? We've had situations where a client server application has had an outage, but the CM job running against that application at the time of the outage shows "currently runn...

sysout log permissions - Linux
We want developers to be able to access sysout logs but can't figure out how to get the access to set properly. The logs get generated with permissions in /opt/controlm/ctmauser/ctm/sysout as: -rw-------. 1 appacct appacct 1227 Jul 27 05:30 daily_loader_ksh.LOG_02wvao_00001 We need permissions to be...

How to update CM Agent Java?
Our company security scanners are flagging the Java version that was installed with the CM 7 agents. Path : /opt/controlm/ctma70/ctm/JRE/ Installed version : 1.6.0_14 Fixed version : 1.6.0_20 How do I update that java version, since this was installed when the agent was installed and in the agent pa...

I have CM server with about 10,000 jobs. NewDay started at 16:00 and is still running at 19:30. *it normally completes within 3-5 minutes). The Gateway status is "formatting AJF" and I am running ctms_data_collector to get some data for BMC. This data collection has been running for 1 hour and outpu...

UNIX Server DNS Changed
We moved our development environment to a new environment (new data center, new UNIX servers), and kept the old name as an alias in DNS so that all CM jobs would not have to be changed. The scheduler team tells me that they had to change all the jobs. This concerns me because we are about to move to...

Thank you. Everything is running. The database is always running, but it's on a different physical machine from the CM/EM installation. We use our existing Oracle DB environment. Is that a problem? The server that it is on, has a live CM Server and EM running, with that one having it's own database ...

EM Configuration Agent Not Available
I have just installed a new CM/EM 6.3.01 (on Solaris 10) server for a migration. Where can I check more settings? The process "ecs.maintag" is running, and root_menu shows that the EM config agent is running. I can start and stop it. ...but in my Control/M Configuration Manager (GUI) I have several ...

Fixpack install error
I am trying to apply a fixpack to CM/EM 6.3.01 on Server_1. The database is on a different physical server (call it Server_2), and the Server_2 already runs our development environment CM/EM. We setup a temporary Oracle database, also on Server_2, just to get the install done because we are moving o...

On CM Server - ctm_diag_comm question
On my CM server, when I login as the CM Server user and run ctm_diag_comm , I get different results for the same address, depending on whether I use hostname only, or fully qualified hostname. If I use fully qualified, CTMS Pings as a regular agent only. # Enter Agent platform node ID: SERVER1.compa...

orbconfigure
It was the settings in orbconfigure, though since nothing on the CM server changed, I shouldn't have had to change that. Had to change the Published Address to the Virtual Hostname. Don't know why, but now it works.

Control-M Config Manager GUI 6.3.0.1 EXTREMELY Slow
Solaris 10 CM/EM 6.3.01 FP500 I'm not a CM expert. Here's my dilemma. We've setup a new CM server and EM. Very few jobs, and about 10 client agents. Today is Friday, and Monday was the last day that it was working normally. We had some network changes done on Tuesday night. Ever since Wednesday, it ...
