Using %%PRECMD and %%POSTCMD

Hi all! We have several cases where, in case of job error, we want to run a simple line command to "clean up" messy logs the job might (or not) have left behind: rm my_job_XXXXX.log As there isn't a " DO Command " option on the " Steps " tab, we did some research and found the %%PRECMD and %%POSTCMD...

We got it solved using the Control-m for z/OS utility CTMCAJF . The utility will logically delete the job and it will then be removed the next time that NEWDAY runs. There's a sample JCL for this utility in member CTMCAJF1 which can be found in the CTM.JCL library. The utility is documented in the U...

zOS - how to kill or remove a NJE job from AJF

Hi everyone, We have a mixed environment Control-M installation, with 1 Windows CTM server and 2 zOS CTM servers, all monitored together with EM . In both EM AJF and CTM Active Environment Display , we see a zOS job "running". The job's ODATE=110603 and Maxwait=0. Yesterday, when we tried to kill th...

Hi, sharas,

We currently execute several DataStage jobs via Control-M on an ETL platform (AIX 5).

Basicly, we invoke the Datastage job via command line with a "Command"-like job.

The return codes are programmed by whoever is developing the DataStage process and Control-M detects them fine.

Thanks! ;)

Just one more question, though: we have 3 Control-M Servers, 1 Windows + 2 MVS, so we have 3 Gateways.

Should I recycle all 3 of them or will it suffice to recycle the Windows Control-M Gateway?

Thanks again for all the help! :)

Thanks Walty! :) I searched the Control-M Admin Guide and found only instructions regarding a Unix-like installation. As we have a Windows installation, I looked up the value in C:\Program Files\BMC Software\CONTROL-M EM 6.4.01\Default\Gtwgcs\appl\ecs\resource\Defaults.rsc However, the value simply ...

Generating Global Conditions with older ODATE

Hi everyone, We run several jobs giving out Global Conditions to other jobs on different Control-M Servers and it works fine. Now we're running some jobs with older ODATE (specificly from last month: 100902, 100903, etc.). The out condition is given on their Control-M Server, but GCS doesn't replica...
